 2024 K-POP World Festival in Sri Lanka

Attention to all K-POP lovers in Sri Lanka, this is your chance to make your dream come true as a K-POP STAR! The much awaited K-POP World Festival is finally coming back to Sri Lanka.

□ What is the K-POP World Festival?

ㅇ “K-Pop World Festival” is a global festival for participants who are enthusiastic about K-Pop, which is co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign affairs, Republic of Korea and the Korea Broadcasting System (KBS).

ㅇ The Preliminary Round of the K- POP World Festival in Sri Lanka will take place offline this year.

ㅇ The contestants should submit the videos of their K-pop dance/ vocal performances before 31st May 2024

ㅇ Applicants can select any song of their choice, and the performance duration should be around 3-4 minutes.

* Participants are encouraged to use the original version of the songs, but not remixed versions.

ㅇ The details of the Preliminary Round of the 2024 K-Pop World Festival are mentioned as follows.

- Date : 7th July 2024 (Sunday)

- Time : 5:30 PM

- Venue : Main Hall, BMICH

□ How to participate in the K-pop World Festival?

ㅇ The K-pop festival is open to individual and group dance/vocal performances.

ㅇ Upload your performance video to Youtube and Email the link of your performing K-POP cover with application form to avindividanage@mofa.or.kr

* The Email Title and Youtube video title should be “K-pop World Festival 2024 – (Group Name)”

ㅇ The application deadline: 31st May 2024

ㅇ By submitting their videos, all the applicants are considered to agree that their videos can be uploaded on Korean Embassy YouTube.

ㅇ Only one application form is sufficient for a group/individual and the application form must be submitted with the YouTube video link.

ㅇ Contestants shall agree their videos of performances to be broadcasted and to be posted on social media channels.

ㅇ Contestants can perform as soloists or groups.

□ Eligibility

ㅇ Any individual/Group of Sri Lankan nationality is eligible to participate.

□ Evaluation Criteria

ㅇ Choreography, Composition, Uniformity

ㅇ Charm and Expression

ㅇ Stage Charisma

□ Prizes

ㅇ Among all the applications, the Embassy will shortlist 12 teams/soloists for the preliminary round that will be held on the 7th July.

ㅇ The embassy will send the top 3 of the finalists to Korea after the preliminary round.

ㅇ If Sri Lanka is selected for the semi-finals, the team will have an opportunity to enter the final round in Korea and expenses will be covered by Korea.

ㅇ The applicants do not need to have a passport to apply for the K-pop World Festival. However, if you are selected for the preliminary round, you should have a passport valid for more than 6 months ahead.

ㅇ Information about the Grand finale will be announced later.
